Getting dressed for the Met Gala is no easy feat. You need to pick a stunning and unforgettable gown, find the perfect jewelry and shoes to compliment the outfit, decide on what hairstyle, makeup and nail color (or art!) will tie everything together… and that’s all before you add-on the fact that your look needs to match the evening’s theme.
They don’t call it fashion’s biggest night for nothing!
So, it makes sense, then, that when they were heading out to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday night, many of our favorite stars took along the best accessory of all: their significant others. For some, like Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and his new wife, Hannah Bagshawe, it was about having someone to hold your hand and keep you calm while facing down an army of paparazzi (and Anna Wintour’s critical eye, of course). For others, like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, it was about knowing that nothing makes your outfit look better than having your partner wearing something that coordinates.
As for Beyoncé? Well, she mostly needed someone to help her carry her train, and who better than hubby Jay Z to lend a helping hand?
In celebration of the fact that two is always better than one, we’ve rounded up the couples we just couldn’t stop watching at the 2015 Met Gala. The next time you have a big event to go to, remember that old adage about taking off once accessory before you walk out the door… and replace it with some well-dressed arm candy of your own.
