Co-stars, roommates, bandmates: the boys of MKTO have spent a lot of time together. So, in theory, Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller should know everything about each other, right?
Well, it turns out that even best friends can surprise each other sometimes — like, for example, when one friend suddenly announces they want to be in a boy band that you never even realized they were into. That’s exactly what happened to Oller when People’s Choice asked him to name which band Kelley would most like to join. While he assumed his bandmate would choose early-2000s R&B stalwarts B2K, Kelley revealed that he had poppier ambitions.
"One Direction?! Oh my God," Oller exclaimed when he finally got a look at what Kelley had written. "Not in a bad way, I just didn't know you'd put 1D."
"I didn't know either until now," his bandmate admitted.
But even though their answers might not have always matched up — unless, of course, they were skirting the rules and simply saying their answers out loud instead of writing them down on their whiteboards — there is one thing that both Kelley and Oller agreed on: how much they love working with one another.
"I wouldn't want to be in any other group," Kelley revealed after the whole boy band-confusion, winning over both us and Oller with his sweet admission. "Aw, thanks man. Thank you so much," Oller swooned, before adding, "I wouldn't want to be in any other band, either."
Looks like it's going to take more than a few confused celebrity crushes and TV show mixups to keep MKTO from sticking together for the long haul.
Although, One Direction might just be in the market for a fifth member...
